Outgames OUT on the Road Summer 2011

Over the past three months representatives of the Vancouver 2011 Outgames have been visiting communities in Canada and the US where there has been a great deal of support and enthusiasm in getting teams and individuals to the Vancouver 2011 Outgames Sporting Events and Human Rights Conference next summer. With a little more than a year to go, fundraising and planning are well under way to see which North American community will be taking home the GOLD medals.

Pride Calendar 2010

Saturday, July 24th, 11am-8pm Stanley Park, Brockton Oval Picnic in the Park - This is a popular summer's event for Pride and those who like picnics...and beer gardens too. The outdoor beer garden has DJ D3VIANT, DJ Jason Van, DJ Mitchell Bederman and DJ Rush’n Noiz spinning music throughout the day. There's face painting for kids, games, balloons and food. Games of tug-a-war, the high heel shoe toss, the drag races or the watermelon eating contest provide for a great day with prizes and plenty of FUN! Pack your basket and we'll see you there.

In 2010, the Pride Parade will start in the heart of downtown Vancouver. The Parade begins at 12:00, Sunday August 1st at Robson and Thurlow, heads West down the hill to Denman street, follows Denman to Pacific and Beach Avenue and finishes at the Sunset Beach Festival Site.Educate, Liberate, Celebrate - Make Pride your political action this summer The Vancouver Pride Society is in year two of a three-year theme, Educate, Liberate, Celebrate, focusing on one of the three elements each year. In 2010, we focus on Liberate. In parts of the world and even in our own country, Pride is still a movement to liberate. Your attendance at Pride demonstrates your acceptance of diversity and support of dignity and human rights. Pride is a vehicle to educate, liberate and celebrate, and every summer, that's what we do. We stand in solidarity, we march with pride, and we celebrate who we are. Show up, be visible and be proud. Make Pride your political action this summer.
